1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing or using the Focus Guard mobile application (“App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Focus Guard is a productivity and parental-control application that allows users to temporarily restrict access to selected apps on a device using scheduled timers, modes (including Child Mode, Study Mode, Night Mode), instant voice/text commands, and optional chat/assistant features. The App’s primary purpose is to reduce distractions and help users focus.

3. Permissions and Required Access

To provide its core functionality, the App requires the following device permissions (requested at run-time):

Accessibility Access — to detect foreground apps and implement blocking behavior.

Usage Access — to identify app usage patterns required for blocking/unblocking.

Microphone (optional) — only if you enable voice-assistant features.

Any other device permissions will be requested with an explicit prompt explaining the purpose.

You acknowledge that these permissions are essential for the App’s blocking and assistant features. If you deny these permissions, certain features may not function.

4. Data Handling & Local Storage

By default, Focus Guard stores configuration data locally on your device (for example: selected apps, schedules/timers, block history and mode settings). The App does not collect or transmit personal data to the developer unless you explicitly enable optional features that require external processing (see Section 6).

5. Optional Features & Third-Party Processing

If you enable chat or voice-assistant features, your audio and/or text may be transmitted to third-party service providers (for example, natural language processing or AI services) for processing. Such transmission occurs only after you give explicit consent. These third-party providers may have their own terms and privacy policies; Focus Guard is not responsible for third-party processing practices. You may disable optional features at any time via the App settings.

6. No Warranty & Limitation of Liability

The App is provided “as is” and “as available.” Developer makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding performance, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

The developer is not responsible for any loss, damage, or consequences (including but not limited to missed notifications, lost data, missed calls, unsaved work or other harm) that may occur as a result of using the App’s blocking features. Use the App responsibly: do not block apps whose notifications or operation are critical for your safety or professional responsibilities.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer’s total liability to you for any claim arising from or connected with the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid (if any) for the App or one hundred Indian Rupees (INR 100) if you paid nothing.

7. User Responsibilities & Acceptable Use

Users agree not to use the App for unlawful or abusive purposes. You are responsible for configuring the App appropriately for minors and ensuring that parental controls comply with applicable laws and guidelines.

8. Modifications to the App and Terms

Developer may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time. Developer may also update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via the App or other reasonable means. Continued use after notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Termination

Developer may suspend or terminate access to the App if user violates these Terms or for any other reason. You may uninstall the App at any time.

10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in India.
